New Word Wednesday

Photobucket

Okay, so why is it that I cannot do the same things that every other blog does. I love Wordless Wednesdays. It would help bring in more followers by pulling me up more often on all of the Blog searches, if I did. But, I guess I am just me and I have never been able to conform...a curse or a blessing? I still don't know. I guess I have always liked being different.

Anyhow, I am really enjoying learning new words. I still need to use them in conversations, before I forget them all together, but that will come with time.

So, enjoy the New Word Wednesday and for goodness sake enjoy the Wordless Wednesdays on all of the other wonderfully, creative blogs out there, as well!

I like today's word. It may not be a new word, but it is one not used to often in my conversation. I especially like it because it goes with my Coffee-Mate Creamer giveaway.

satiety \suh-TY-uh-tee\, noun:

The state of being full or gratified to or beyond the point of satisfaction.

Carbohydrates, especially the starchy ones like pasta and potatoes, provide a feeling of satiety, both physiologically and psychologically.
-- Marian Burros, "Eating Well", New York Times, October 19, 1988
Isidore of Seville, in interpreting the Psalms in the seventh century, seconded the idea that tears produce satiety. "Lamenting," he wrote, "is the food of souls."
-- Tom Lutz, Crying: The Natural and Cultural History of Tears

Satiety is from Latin satietas, from satis, "enough."

That's funny Sarah. I'm a non conformist in a tamed down mom like way also. AND..... I love words. I love your idea! Now if I just remember to join in...
